Works made in the spring and summer of 2017 and displayed August 2017 at South Main Gallery. These interactive installations utilize DIY antennas and operational amplifiers (op amps) to pick up radio frequencies (in MHz) of cell phones as a means of interaction. When calls or text messages are received or sent within a meter or so area of these antennas, the Op Amp converts that energy in the form of radiation waves, into electricity to trigger embedded LED lights.

The imagery originates from early morning studio listening to Democracy Now!, NPR and BBC news between March - June of 2017 in Portland, OR.  The titles are the timestamps of notifications relating to the imagery of the specific work.
